As I walked in to the majestic lobby of Le Parker Meridien, I was stunned at the beauty of it all. From the outside, the hotel looks like a 1950's apartment building but when you go inside, you feel like you're in a different world. Marble everywhere, a beautiful sculpture you see as you check in. In the elevator, my little brother quickly noticed a television! They had a television in the elevator that played cartoons?! This was my kind of hotel! And I had not even seen the rooms! As I found the door to our room, I realized that we had a door bell! And all the room numbers were lit up in blue. I thought that was pretty cool. The view from our room was wonderful. You can see Central Park. It's beautiful. The actual rooms are amazing. Our Junior Suite had a master bedroom and a sitting room which were divided by a spinning television that allows the TV to face either the sitting room or the master bedroom. They had all the electronics anyone could want. A DVD player, VCR, internet on the TV– everything! The bathroom was gorgeous, with a big walk-in shower. The hotel also has a roof-top pool. When I saw it, it reminded me of the Berkeley Hotel in central London, where we stayed many years ago. They also have a all-inclusive exercise room. It's so full of machines, I couldn't decide what to use first! And then there's Gravity. Gravity is what they call the spa. Massages, facials, you name it, they've got it all. Le Parker Meridien also has a wonderful restaurant called Norma's in case you get hungry. Norma's is a city wide famous restaurant. It has a variety of breakfast foods, anything you want, they have. They serve very large portions so be prepared to take some leftovers up to your hotel room. Last but not least, a very little thing I noticed was a little New York touch. Instead of a "Do Not Disturb" sign to put on your door, they had a "Fuhghetaboutit" sign you could put on your door.
Confidentially, I kept the sign. I recommend the elegant Parker Meridien to anybody, young or old, kids or no kids, even pets, they have a special menu just for them! The Parker Meridien is the place to go in New York, it's near everything, close by the famous Carnegie Hall. I would gladly go back there anytime, you name it, I'm there!
